airplane crash in Khartoum, plane burning on the runway

I wasn't on it, I was at a nice Khartoum restaurant eating Chicken Cesar salad and home-made fettucine. Khartoum radio stations are reporting that all 200 passengers got off the Sudan Airlines plane alive. Early indications are that we won't be flying to Juba tomorrow. Sigh. I wish I'd had dessert.

I try to check CNN on my lunch hour and my heart fell to my stomach until I read that it was incoming from Jordan. They're reporting that at least 100 were killed. So glad to hear you're okay, Wayne. Have dessert tomorrow!

The latest according to AFP is that the plane exploded and 120 perished.

SAD!!

This morning News, the count has been revised to about 30. Regardless, it is very sad and does not speak well to Sudan Air safety record.

Glorious weather in Ottawa today. No debate in the house because the P.M. is delivering a historic apology to the Aboriginals who were victims of the residential schools' system, dismantled back in 1996.
